A structured process designed to help parties move from conflict toward meaningful resolution

What is mediation?

Mediation is a structured process in which a neutral mediator helps parties communicate, understand the issues in dispute, explore potential solutions, and work toward a mutually acceptable resolution.

Judge Schwall brings extensive judicial and legal experience to his mediation practice. However, in mediation, the mediator serves as a neutral facilitator and does not decide the dispute for the parties.

Mediation is generally conducted as a confidential dispute-resolution process, subject to applicable law and the terms governing the mediation. Specific confidentiality provisions should be confirmed before publication.

You may request a mediation through the Request a Mediation form or by contacting the office directly.

Virtual mediation may be available. Please contact the office to confirm available formats.

Mediation fees depend on the nature and duration of the matter. Please contact the office for current rates and scheduling information.

Parties and counsel should be prepared to provide the information and documents necessary to help the mediator understand the dispute. Specific submission requirements will be provided during the scheduling process.
